Tony Wellington is a published author, freelance writer, film-maker, lecturer, musician, photographer and visual artist.

He graduated from Sydney's Macquarie University in 1976 with a BA majoring in Mass Media and Communications. He was also awarded a University Prize for his media studies.

He has worked on a freelance basis in the film and television industry, written books and articles, lectured in media, had exhibitions of his paintings around Australia, run folk clubs, recorded a CD of original songs, and generally behaved like a moving target.

He is a father of three, an avid gardener, and obsessive surfer. Living in the hinterland of Queensland's premier holiday destination, Noosa, he gets to surf some of the world's best point breaks, indulge his fascination with the natural environment, and pretend he's on permanent holidays.
