In 2000, Tony released a CD of his own original songs. "Some Questions About Fish" is a quirky collection of humorous songs covering such diverse issues as high school reunions, the names given to fish and cars, religious cults, depression and parenting. The album also features Steve Mann on electric guitar and Jonathan Zwartz on double bass. It received airplay on Sydney's Radio 2BL and various regional stations.

For a number of years Tony ran folk clubs in Sydney. In 2000, with his mate Phil Johnson, he established M.A.S.S. (Musicians And Singer/Songwriters), a monthly concert of entirely original music. This Balmain-based event, held in an old church hall, became a mainstay on Sydney's music scene.
