Tony Wellington: author, photographer, politician, freelance writer, artist, film-maker, lecturer, musician and social commentator.
Tony graduated from Sydney's Macquarie University in 1976 with a BA majoring in Communications and Mass Media. He received the University Prize for his media studies.
He has worked on a freelance basis in the film and television industry, written books and many published articles, lectured in media, had exhibitions of his paintings around Australia, provided illustrations and photographs for various books, run folk clubs, recorded a CD of original songs, and published a regular political newsletter.
Tony was a councillor on both the Sunshine Coast Council and the Noosa Council, and he was Mayor of Noosa.
He is a father of three and keen surfer. Living with his wife in the hinterland of Queensland's premier holiday destination, Noosa, he gets to surf world-class point breaks and indulge his fascination with the natural environment.
